Something was happening with the Ancient magic of the land. Something big, something that could destroy everything in its wake. The Alchemists were the first to sense it, in the forms of signs and symbols scrawled in their minds. Then the Medics, and finally the rest. It was eerie, the symbols, they were haunting every movement and everything seemed to hold its breath. Finally something triggered the beginning of the end. This something was the gryphons themselves who wandered into the places haunted by the darker magic. It seemed that they had awoken the ancient spells, setting them to accomplish their original purpose of destruction. The throbs from the shadow forest began to rock the land, causing earthquakes, the blood Basin's mist truly became as sinister as it seemed, somehow it had become poisonous, the forest of the unexplained began to grow, engulfing more land and becoming more dangerous than ever, and finally the hidden, almost dead killing magic of the badlands reawakened. Many sensed this as it rose towards the climax and the gryphons became weary. The home they had once known had become as dangerous as it was in the war, perhaps even more. They had to leave, and soon, or all would be lost. Almost all together and at once they finally decided to leave their old home, to start anew. Only a few of the alchemists stayed behind a while, attempting to claim the lands back from the old magic. They failed and soon followed the others on the great migration. Behind them they left the familiar lands they had lived in for centuries, in chaos.

What are Gryphons?
To us they are mythological beasts with the foreparts of a bird of prey and the rears of a large wild cat. These creatures originated in Eurasia at ancient times when superstition was held strong. They are what is roleplayed here in this RPG. Here they are roleplayed in a world to far for man to reach out. They are advanced creatures, having come up with their own sciences and culture.
Gryphons of Valiant
In the previous Valiant version, we had four gryphon species you were allowed to play as. Well, now we have EIGHT! These aren't particularly separate though, the new four still hold root to the basics.
*These new version 2 gryphons are more like branched-out breeds, and less like species. They can breed within their own family groups, but not with the other species.
Breeding in between species, is like a pure blood Chihuahua breeding with a pure blood Wolf. There will be no result.
*Valiant's full-grown gryphons are approximately the size of an adult draft horse. Height averages from forehead to front toes 5.5ft-7.5ft/187cm approx.
**Species
Avianis
Hydros
Terra
Stalla
*Breeds
Avianis->Gemma
Hydros-> Hydra
Terra-> Lem
Stalla-> Draco
Breeding Results
If the colors of the gryphon are based off its other breed, it is not counted as an abnormal color excuse. Most of the breed colors are very alike, therefore it would be colored like one or the other. As well as breed itself must stay one or the other, it can not be a mix of the two.
Ex.
Hydros father, Hydros Hydra mother.
Their chick would be either one or the other, and the marking and base color would match its species.
The The Laws of Black, White, and Gray
Black, white, and gray are allowed on all species, because they are not official colors, but if they are not in the color scale located beside the example picture then large quantities of the black or white are not allowed, only in very small amounts.
v1: Known as the Gryphons of Mount Cumulo
Griphonus Avianis
These Gryphons Originated in Mountains far north but have spread into the lower areas where this land lies. They prefer open air and mountains. Avianis has a wide wingspan. Depending on the size of the gryphon, wingspans can be from 3-4x their body length from beak-tail. They are long and slender, and think of themselves to be higher than other species. Their fur is thick and soft.

Griphonus Avianis Gemma
This Avianis breed is more colorful and darker than its relative. These gryphons came mostly from extinct volcanic areas, and places plentiful with gems, valuable metals, and ores. They are more adaptable to small mountains and temperate forests. Gemma's wings tend to be shorter than the stem breed, and they do not fly as frequently as the other Avianis breed. Gemma's act of hoarding treasures tends to be more active than the other gryphons.
On their heads, they grow two horns that are mostly straight but curve downward slightly once they get long enough. Females maximum length is about a foot long, the males can reach up to three feet. These horns can be a variety of colors.

v1: Known as the Gryphons of Axe Headlands
Griphonus Hydros
The Hydros gryphons originated in near the oceans worldwide. They are based of a normal body that can be shaped from stalky to slender. Their feet are not webbed, but instead they are wide, and they can hold their breath for hours underwater. Their bones are filled with many tubes and hallows which protect them from pressure underwater, and makes them flexible. Their focal lens is able to change, so they can see clearly in the depths.

Griphonus Hydros Hydra
This breed of gryphon originated in the tropical areas of the world. They spend most of their lives in water. Most could even swim before they could walk. Their fur and feathers are strong and slicked back. Unlike any other gryphons, they are omnivorous, sometimes feeding of seaweed and berries, and in result to this odd diet have pink and purple colors present in their coats.

v1: Known as the Gryphons of Sirus Moors
Griphonus Terra
These gryphons came from plains of all types. They prefer running over flying. Their bodies have developed long, slender, builds and short wings. Their very acute and angular. Their back claws do not retract. They have sharp focal eyesight. Their agility is perhaps the best of all creatures of their size.

Griphonus Terra Liemus
Branched from the short-winged Terra, Terra Liem is the same in nearly all ways. The only thing that splits them apart is the lacking physicals features. No Wings. They have adapted entirely to the plains, they are tall and agile, nimble and quick-thinking.

v1: Known as the Gryphons of Midnight Canyon
Griphonus Stalla
These gryphons came from deserts of all types. They have coarse fur and thick skin. Their feet are covered with protective padding to keep protect from venomous insects, arachnids, and reptile bites when walking through the sand. Their wings are averaged-sized and their bodies are tightly muscled. A large quantity of them tend to be quite temperamental, sarcastic, arrogant, and brash.

Griphonus Stalla Draconis
These gryphons are very unique, and have much pride in themselves. Draco is named for the relation is has to a dragon (Dragons don't exist in the game though.) The gryphon is able to bear two large, thick, horns that can be any gray scale or bone color and can curve into many directions. Both male and female's horns can grow to any livable size. Some males are able to grow prong-like ridges.
They can be hot-tempered and violent, as they are also stereotypically unintelligent. And they can grow up to 2ft beyond average gryphon size.

These gryphons can't be anything you want, there must be some limits to make this game run smoothly without argument.
*Your gryphon's forelimbs can be of these falconiformes: eagle, falcon, caracara, hawk, harrier, kestrel, osprey, and more, BESIDING Vultures(condors/buzzards) and Owls.
*Cat-halves can be of any large cat, but must match breed and species colors.
*These gryphons have ear flaps on the sides of their heads.
*Cat-like characteristics are allowed in the face for the foreparts, such as whiskers and eyes.
*All Gryphons (besides Terra Lem) have wings, that includes both males and females.
*When gryphons first hatch, they are about the size of a full-grown house cat.
*Out-of-the-normal colors must be asked for. PM the Administrator, Abiyram (Rebekah.)
*Reproduction spans from 12-70 years.
*Gryphons are born in an egg that grows inside the mother. Gestation can take as least at 2 months and at most at 4 months, depending on how healthy the mother is.
*Chicks begin hatch about 30mins to an hour after the egg is layed.
*Chicks can be playable at three years of age, unless born into the game and put up for adoption.
* This is not a full-throttle mythical creature fantasy. Gryphons are the only mythological animal in this game. NO DRAGONS, NO UNICORNS, NO PIXIES, etc.
*There are no humans in this game.
*Gryphon IQs are matchable to humans.
*No magic can kill without other roleplayers plotting.
*This map presents the areas of other animals that are seen in his game. Most of North America and Europe.
*No other animals can communicate verbally with the gryphons. They are seen as either game or just animals.
Gryphons age almost equivalent to humans in their chick - young adult years.
0-12 years: Chick, put into chick ranks and apprenticeship duties.
13-17 years: Adolescent, put into adult ranks, but are too young to reach the higher ranks.
18-30 years: Young adult, old enough to rule a pride.
31-65 years: Adult.
66-200 years: Elder, retired from duties, but can still own one.
201+ years: ...Dead :D
*Age effects Horn Growth in Gemma and Draco
Younger Gemma and Draco gryphons have horns that need to comfortably fit them. Both species don't start getting horns until they reach around ten years old, then after that nubs start to form and grow out. In their teenage years horns grow at moderate pace. But once reach young adult possible rapid growth could start (especially for the Dracos.) The Gemma's horns stop growing at average 35 years. Draco's can continue until they are 70 years. These are horns not antlers, they do not shed, and if one or both breaks or is lost it will be scared, or will stop growing.
Hierarchy
The hierarchy on v2 is different than on v1. Here the ranks are not based on the Greek alphabet and there is not one rank for for each member.
Here are the ranks of the MAIN SIX PRIDES (well talk about in a little while.)
Pride Master
Overseer
Magist

Subordinates
As for the Avtime Marsh
Leading
Second
Followers
The ranks are in descending order. Higher ranks should be submitted to.
Subordinates and Followers are the starting positions for new members.
Pridemaster, Overseer, Leading, and Second are the highest ranks possible, they only allow one position.
Duties
Duties have also changed, there are less of the unpopular boring ones and more of the interesting ones.
Magic is now separated into categories, chick ranks get the apprenticeship duty to these ranks.
Magic
Light- Consists of Divine power.
Tri- Consists of Divine, Elemental, and Dead power.
Dark- Consist of Dead power.
*Dead Power doesn't mean powerless. Alchemists and Necromancers use the force of old remaining magic, and the energy let off by decay around them.
Requestable Duties
Magic Duties
Light Magic-> (Apprenticeship) Monk-> (Official) Priest/Priestess
Tri-Magic-> (Apprenticeship) Sage-> (Official) Alchemist
Dark Magic-> (Apprenticeship) Mage-> (Official) Necromancer
*Priest and Priestesses don't need to be entirely up-tight religious, that is just the name given to them. Though, they are devoted to the divine and heaven.
Non-magic Pride Duties
Hunter
Fisher
Knight
Pawn (meaning Pridemaster bodyguard)
Scout
Care taker (for the young without parents/to watch over children)
Medic
Fetcher (Messenger)
Sentinel
Historian (Old veteran gryphons, knows of prideland's history)
Forces
There are two forces in the game, the well known forces in many stories of the Light(divine) and Dark(death.) Neither of these are the best or worst, and none of them are dedicated to any common malicious behavior. The two sides still fight with each other and their are a lot of issues in between them, concerning land and own age. The Darks feel that the Lights get much more than they deserve, and have evidence the Lights had pushed them to the lower corner of the livable area in the peninsula. Magic type does not matter to which group.
The Lights
The Lights have been there nearly as long as the Darks but have been trying to get more out of the darks prides, but at the same time trying to keep everything to themselves. These gryphons are stereotyped as greedy to the darks and the neutrals, though they don't mind much being hated, as long as they're left alone.
The Darks
The darks are trying to stay as defensive as possible of their land, and are trying to make the lights give up more space. They have been pushed to the very edge of the peninsula. Both Prides used to use the new dark territory as testing ground for magic. Some things that have grown and died have made it impossible to live in some areas.
Be friending and mutual lands
*Gryphons of different forces are allowed to befriend the opposite force members, that includes Pridemasters.
*Anyone can walk anywhere that is not a pride land. Territories are only named that way because the other force is protecting it.
Neutral?
There is a neutral force that takes up a sub-peninsula. The only pride there at the time is Avtime Marsh.
Prides
Any species or breed of gryphon may join any pride there is no strong segregation between species in these lands. Though some land features would make it hard for some gryphons to live in.
Affiliated
Depending on what force, the pride is affiliated with its sisters. Gryphons of a pride will be able to come in, if invited, to a sister pride in the same force.
If a pride member of an outside force walks into to an opposite-force prideland, consequences will be made.
Ex. Sundown Woodland member walks into Remnat Orchard with someone of that pride, acceptable.
Ex. A Debonair Garden member walks into Lowerlin Channel, it is unacceptable, and that outsider will be booted.
Avtime stays out of this, they are one by themselves.
