Now Why Exactly Did I Come Here?, For Obscuro

Dagon looked about. Okay this place was a little unnerving, much like the blood basin before it was dangerous. He stood on top of a cliff, at the edge of the border of the pride. It was windy up here, and the moving air ruffled his feathers about. A dark spire rose from the trees below, an ominous presence. Even the trees didn't look too friendly. Despite all this Dagon wasn't afraid, it was nothing compared to the forest of the unexplained.

Apparently a pride was situated around here. Dagon didn't know it yet but it was a dark pride. Frankly he didn't really realize the difference between the two, he hadn't grown up with it like the gryphons who had been born here. So he was here for an innocent reason, just to meet the pride leader, if there was one. So he opened his massive grayish beak and produced a sound that was a cross between a screech and a roar. It echoed eerily over the land.

High in the thick branches of a black oak, a pair of glinting eyes watched the alchemist moving therough the wood. This one was a stranger to Sundown. Clearly he did not know to stay away.

"Silly birdie," hissed the black male in the tree. Walking so confidently throught the woodland. Oscuro would sort him out, he had been looking for an excuse to shed blood...

Oscuro was a little surprised when the other announced his presence with a loud roar, but it was perfect. The chance to approach without suspicion from Dagon. Oscuro jumpd from the tree, landing squarely in the path of the other, but making no attempts to feign friendship.

"who are you, striding boldly through our prideland?" snarled Oscuro at the male. He started to draw to him his magic, from the very ground beneath him and all that decayed at his feet. This one would have a surprise in store if he did not retreat immediately.

OOC: He he time for a multitude of surprises....

He heard branches crackling, someone was coming. That was a far quicker reaction than he expected, if the gryphons were as unfriendly as their territory he would of expected them to ignore him. Or perhaps they were as creepy and dangerous as the territory seemed so they came running. Mmm that was probably it.

The gryphon appeared before him. He was pure black, and had a malicious glint in his eye. The only thing that marred his ebony coat was a patch of reddish brown. Also he was obviously unobservant as Dagon was not in there lands, merely hovering on the edge of the dark land and the surrounding area. "Sir I am not in your lands, frankly it would be rude if I trespassed but if you notice I'm just outside the border land." he said firmly, making sure the other gryphon understood.

Then he felt magic beneath his feet. He frowned slightly, obviously he was a magic user but why waste his effort crumbling the ground? Most could fly away and didn't he sense the residue of magic that clung to every feather of his massive body. Simple tricks like that would work on him. Dagon raised his massive wings and flapped them once, becoming airborne. He hovered now just above the other gryphon. "What does that magic accomplish Sir, it won't work upon another magic user? he asked.

"mere technicalities," hissed Oscuro, with regard to the comment about the border. "Still you disturbed my rest. And I can make my magic work on you..."

Enough chit chat, he decided, time to show this insolent one just what happened when he messed with Oscuro Aula. He sent a jet of fire, sparkling with black flame, right at Dagon, hitting him square on the chest, leaving a few singed feathers where the bolt had struck. It was not enough to kill him, but Oscuro felt like playing with him a little. Besides, he had always preferred to kill with his claws. It seemed more gryphon.

"Now, what were you saying about my magic not working on another magic user?" he snarled, feeling elated.

OOC: Could you ask me before you powerplay next time?

What was this gryphon's problem? He was just trying to make good relations but it seemed that would never work, particularly if this gryphon was in charge. From his words he didn't seem friendly and was getting unfriendlier by the moment. Suddenly a jet of black fire careened out towards him and singed his chest. Okay now Dagon was mildly displeased. Just because the other gryphon was grumpy didn't mean it could attack him for no reason at all.

"Now Sir that was rude, I suggest you don't do that again. he said his voice low and threatening. At that moment he made sure his numerous scars could be seen to warn him that he wasn't a pushover at all. "I suggest you take me to you leader now before this escalates any more, I've just come to make good terms. Tell him that Dagon the leader of the Avtime Marsh pride has come to meet him." he said his voice now had authority in it. "And by the way Sir, thats an order." he added finally.

"Order? How DARE you order me?" Oscuro was livid, this stranger had no right to order him around! "Who in hells name do you think you are? I will nt take you to my master, you will face ME!" He started pacing, a habit of his that meant he was very angry indeed, although this newcomer might not know this. He shook his head, muttering and cursing, snarling and snapping, ripping up the ground with his claws.

"You had better apologise to me for that," he said through a gritted beak. "I don't give a damn who's pride master you are, I will not take orders from you!" His feathers at his neck were raised. he was reasdy to attack at a moments notice.

He was amused. Finally a gryphon who hadn't heard of him, yet considering his prickly nature he wasn't surprised. Ironic how such a bad tempered gryphon hadn't heard of him while every other reasonable gryphon had. A slight smile played onto his face as the other gryphon ranted, but it was brief. A smile could mean weakness in a battle. Or insanity. Neither one was a good choice at the moment so the smile disappeared, along with his amusement.

" Sir you desperately need etiquette lessons. You do realize that its common politeness that if a gryphon politely asks entrance into a territory that he or she will be allowed in." he reminded the dark gryphon, his voice wavering on courteous and angry. "For being so rude in the first place, I do believe I am not at fault sir, therefore I do not owe you an apology" dagon said in the same tone. Very few ever heard this tone, those who did usually came out pretty bad.

"I do not care what you think of my manners!" fumd the black gryphon, his scarlet eyes glitering furiously. "I reserve my manners only for my allies. You are not my ally, you are an enemy, I do not have to be civil to you!" he lunged at Dagon, claws ready to strike, already to carried away to stop himself. He wanted to hurt this one who dared to lecture him, Oscuro Aula, about ettiquette.

So that was that eh? So apparently he wasn't an ally was he? He was a nuetral, who could be allies with any alliance, however this encounter had decided he certainly wouldn't ally himself with this pride if they were all like this. Dagon had never been treated as such in his 27 years of life, partly because of his reputation, but mostly because most gryphons could actually converse without lashing out.

It was no surprise that this one lunged. Particularly considering how the conversation had been going. Dagon watched as if the other moved in slow motion. He stepped to the side, out of the trajectory of the midnight colored beasts path. A magical shield soon followed, guarding against a successive attack, and the brute braced himself.
