Terror Branded looked around slowly at the trees that seemed to surround him. He could feel their age, and heard them groan slightly as they shifted. He had heard of this places past as an orchard, but now it was hard for him to believe it. The trees were dark, their leaves thick and Jade green. The air was still, in fact everything was still. It seemed as if time itself seemed to slow here and Terror felt his body automatically reacting to it and slowing down, his steps becoming nearly silent over the soft ground.
So this was to be where he spent the rest of his time? He had decided almost randomly but now he thought he might have made a good choice. This place was quite, which he liked, and it didn't seem to have that many wolves, which meant less of a chance for confrontation. Though he would fight didn't mean he liked having to rip others to shreds on a daily basis. If gryphs were just more excepting than they wouldn't have this problem in the first place. He looked up at the evening sun, grinning slightly to himself, watching as the sky was dyed purples and oranges. |

Saren had been sure over the years to learn the faces and names of most of her Pride members, but this one before her was unfamiliar. Had she simply overlooked him? Or was he an outsider? Intruding in on the Pridelands was a serious charge indeed, and since it seemed that she was the only one in the area it was her duty to investigate.
She flew silently through the air, her dark wings hardly making a sound as she approached the stranger in question. She had been making her border runs as per usual when she had spotted him. He didn't seem to causing any trouble, and he certainly wasn't trying to stay undetected. She touched down to his right and called to him from a distance as not to startle him. Neither her appearance nor her attitude were very intimidating- unless she tried to be- but the simple fact that she was a Stalla Draco usually made others weary of her (it was probably the horns). Which could, of course, be beneficial in certain situations, but hardly ever helped in her own lands. If this stranger did tun out to be friendly then she didn't want to make a bad impression. Of course, she didn't have to overdo it. "Greetings" she said as she came closer. "I'm Saren Amberdawn, of the Remnet Orchard Pride. I'm afraid that I've never seen you here before. Are you from around these parts?" |

Terror saw the approach of the gryphon and it was not a surprise really that she was coming. His hope that he might be left alone in this land of timeless existence was short lived and would have been crushed anyways. Might as well just face it, he was after all quite ready to fight whoever felt lucky that day. But he regretted that his stay here would be short lived because of it.
He saw the other was a female and as she touched down he self consciously checked his size against her. As usual she was bigger. It was annoying to him, the size difference between him and every other gryphon out there. But it was the was he was and he was fine with it. Now if everyone else simply caught up on this fact than he wouldn't have to constantly deal out punishment. He was not intimidated by her in the least, though the horns were impressive. He had grown numb to feelings of fear and intimidation. He simply looked her over critically as she did the same thing to him. "I am Terror Branded," he offered simply. He had no home to call his own, and she obviously had never seen him before. He wasn't sure where "these parts" where, nor did he remember where he was born, so he had no answer for her question. He shifted his weight to his right side, his muscles rippling over his small form impressively. He clicked his beak together hopefully conveying the fact that he wasn't going to answer the question because there wasn't an answer. "Strange place this is." He said monotone, his eyes flickering for barely a second to the scenery before they switched back to her. He appeared relaxed but he was prepared for whatever reception he was given. His body ready to spring across the space between them. |

Terror Branded? What sort of parent names a child like that?
Aside from his odd name, Saren took note of a few other aspects of this stranger. HE was Stalla, which meant that he and she were of the same basic race. There didn't seem to be many of the Stalla in her Pride anymore for some reason. He was also smaller than her, though not by too much. Ironically, the Stalla and Stalla Dracos were supposed to be some of the largest breeds around, but here stood two of the undersized individuals. Even though he was smaller, he was still well built, and she could tell just by looking at him that he was easily stronger than her. Not that she had any intention of testing that strength - no one came into another Pride's territory just to pick a fight. Apparently, he didn't plan on telling her anything else about himself so she didn't press any further. "It is an strange place... Terror, but it's what myself and my pride call home." she said, slightly offended at his remark, but she quickly lightened her tone, "So, why is it that you've come here? Not just to see the sights I'd assume." |

"I like it." He said, as she confirmed his mention of the area being strange. "It's quiet." His body relaxed subtly, though his position stayed almost exactly the same, the only thing visibly shifting where his ear tufts switching back and forth briefly before settling down. "A pride?" Has asked making a face. So much for quiet. He looked around almost longingly at the area. "Just what I need more bloody birds." He growled under his breath, his blue eyes switching back and forth between the frozen trees and the gryph.
"Nothing comes to mind, looking for a place to stay I suppose, where i wouldn't be... bothered." He said, attempting to not be rude but not doing very well. "So this pride... How much of you are there?" He wondered if maybe he could run the pride out if it was small enough but through away that idea. One one one he was the best but he could easily be outnumbered and overpowered. But maybe if it was small enough he could find some lonely corner of the area to settle. |

"Yes, the Remnet Pride." Saren replied. She hesitated. Depending on if his intentions were honourable or not, she debated on how much she should actually tell him.
"We're actually the smallest of the three Southern Prides as far as I know. And while I'm not exactly proud of that, it does help to keep us out of their conflicts most of the time." It seemed though that Terror shared the need for individualization that she and most of her Pride wanted. They could always use more members. She stood and walked around him. "If what you're looking for is refuge from the rest of the South but still don't want to leave it, this is where you'll find it." She gestured out across the land with a foreclaw, "Our members keep to themselves for the most part, but we protect our own and respect their wishes. We don't intrude on those that don't want it of course though..." She turned back and faced him, "What I mean to say is, you would be welcome if you chose to stay here." She let a small smile tug at the edges of her beak - something she hardly every let show, "You might find more in common with us than you think."
